Get the word out with Blogging, Facebook, and other “Social” Websites

This morning at the bright hour of 7:30 I facilitated a session on the topic of Blogs, Facebook, and social media. I met a fabulous group of women of which about half were completely new to the concepts. I promised to post expanded notes and links here. But there were so many great questions this morning that I’m going to break it down into a few posts, something along the lines of:
- Blogging intro - what is a blog, why would you want one? Plus, how to set up a free blog.
- More advanced blogging concepts - categories & tagging, commenting, RSS feeds, social bookmarking
- Social media/social networking intro - what is it, what are some of the sites in this category
- Facebook intro - what is facebook, why join, things to be aware of when you join
- Facebook & Networking - staying top-of-mind with your friends, expanding your network
