I’m glad I’m not a woodpecker

We were walking near the Langdale ferry the other day and heard “tap-tap-tap. tap-tap-tap.” There was a woodpecker working on extracting dinner out of an old dead tree. He (?) was just SLAMMING his beak into the wood. Do you think they have special brain design to protect against that kind of impact? Or maybe they just don’t have much of a brain to protect. There are so many weird things in nature.

  1. Tzaddi says:

Is your real name Tzaddi?! Woah!

  2. Tzaddi says:

    Yes, strange but true :)

I had an identity crisis the first time I realized there was another Tzaddi out there… Oddly enough she was also a California girl.
