I'm glad you brought it up. I know that it's next to impossible to have a zero-impact footprint, unless I try to turn myself into some kind of nomadic gatherer modeled on ancient peoples very far removed from my experience. (Is that even possible, in Canada, today?) So it's just a matter of choosing what actions I can live with both practically and environmentally, striking the best balance I can. We were thinking about a smaller model since it's just the two of us most of the time. But I will think about this a bit more. I've been frustrated with spending a lot of time doing dishes when I feel like I could be doing other things. On the other hand, the view from the kitchen window, behind the sink, is beautiful. Maybe I should just enjoy the positive aspects of doing dishes now that I will have more spare time. I feel like I can't make the 'right' environmental and ethical choices all of the time. Like if I stop to think about every little thing I become somewhat paralyzed, depressed and overwhelmed. You have a good point, Bruce.
