Vermeulen Painting Stolen from Exhibition

My friend Marleen just gave me some sad news: she had a painting stolen on Friday from her exhibition at the HSBC Building (Pendulum Gallery), less than 24 hours after the show’s opening night. Even worse, it’s one of four which are meant to hang together. It’s tough to imagine someone having the guts to walk out with a 4′x4′ painting, isn’t it? From a bank building, no less?

I told Marleen to try thinking of it as a compliment to her work. The work is really lovely so I recommend you check it out if you get the chance. Exhibition details on Marleen’s site.
