The $1-million Vancity Award
If you’re a Vancity member, you might want to vote on the million dollar charity award. Of the finalists I’m most familiar with Quest Outreach which does fabulous work diverting food that would otherwise fill our landfills. Voting ends on Friday, October 13.

Another great project on the ballot is the ACCESS Health Centre, put forward by AIDS Vancouver Island and the Cool Aid Society. The recent HIV/AIDS conference in Toronto really showed how innovative health and prevention services are needed around HIV and other health issues faced by marginalized communitys. Check out the video on the website, it’s really compelling.
