Hey Buddy, can you spare a freezer?
I received the latest newsletter from Quest Food Exchange, an organization I’ve written about before. They do an amazing job of diverting food that would otherwise go to our landfills into “nutritious meals and hampers, garden and greenhouse compost and animal feed”. Now they’re expanding their great model across the province.
So without further ado, I present their current wishlist in the hopes that someone in my network can help them out.
Quest Food Exchange’s Wishlist
For the Kitchen:
- commercial veggie peeler
- commercial electric can opener
- quality knives
- commercial sized pots
- wheeled carts
For the Store:
- glass cooler
- glass freezer
- shelving
- shelving cart
For the Warehouse:
- power washer
- floor scale
- dollies (as my husband would call them, handtrucks)
I’m happy to see the list has been steadily shrinking.
If you’re looking to support them in other ways, they accept cash donations (who doesn’t
)and turn $1 into $12.51 worth of food to feed six people! Sounds kinda like magic to me.
